((oooooohh...flamecoat's gonna freak!!!))
Flamecoat nodded stiffly, trying to contain his fury at both of them. "Very well. I accept your terms and conditions. Tomorrow I will train my apprentice." he turned away with a dip of his head, avoiding Amberpaw's gaze. Is she completely mousebrained? Flamecoat thought angrily to himself as he headed for the warriors' den. Didn't she realise that this meant their time together would be limited?
He would have to teach her a lesson. And soon.
((ah! I just had an idea!! since flamecoat is pissed at her maybe we could somehow make it that they accidently end up alone together and he starts with the whole 'controllive-relationship' thing? that would be so fun!! heeheehee yay for comlicated evil love!!))

[[Ohhh good idea!]]
~ ! ~ [/center] Cedarstar and Amberpaw spoke for another moment, before he bid her goodbye and dipped into the leader's den to speak in private with the medicine cat. The next Gathering would be tomorrow, he realized, so he would have to decide whom was going with him. Amberpaw was rippling with excitement. She whirled around and raced across the clearing to find Flamecoat, giddily jumping on his back when she found him. "Hey, Flamecoat, did'ja hear? Did'ja hear what Cedarstar said? He's gonna make me a warrior soon!" She was practically shaking with enthusiasm. She giggled playfully, tugging on the handsome tom's ear. "Then we can go out on patrols together and everything, I'll be as good as you one day!"[/blockquote]

Flamecoat norrowed his eyes, and pulled away from her touch. "Yes. I heard." he turned away for a moment, allowing an expression of hurt to creep into his eyes. "But, Amberpaw...how can you be so enthusiastic about something that will keep us apart?" he spat. "This 'extra training'...it will mean that we won't be able to be together...and after today...Amberpaw..." a thought occured to him. He knew what he would say next. "After what we said to one another...how can you put your warriorhood before me? I thought you cared! You know you'll be a warrior eventually...would it not be worth the wait...for me?"

Amberpaw frowned, looking puzzled at first, and then ashamed. She took a couple of steps back, ears drooping considerably. "I thought you'd be proud of me." She mewed. "That doesn't seem very fair, Flamecoat. I've been working and training so hard to become a warrior, and in a quarter moon I'll finally be one! I thought you liked me. Maybe you do, but you certainly don't respect me if you expect me to wait. You've been a warrior for so long! I wanna be as good as you." She whimpered.
~ ! ~ [/center] Copperclaw's ears twitched and he turned his head, looking over towards Flamecoat and Amberpaw. A quizzical look cam across his face and he stopped focusing on Lightbracken for the time being just to hear Flamecoat utter some ridiculously manipulative crowfood to Amberpaw. He didn't hear her reply - she was too quiet - but he stil felt alarmed. He tried not to look like he was listening. ~ ! ~ [/center] [[Consider Copperclaw Flamecoat's enemy ;P]][/blockquote]

OOC: awesome!!
"Amberpaw..." okay, maybe he'd been a little harsh. But it had been neccessary. Deep down, he was almost enjoying watching her squirm. It gave him a sense of control. But he would have to keep her happy, or she might give up on him. "You are as good as me. In my mind, I consider you a warrior already. And I do respect you, I just thought that you would have figured out that it doesn't matter to me whether you're a warrior or an apprentice...and also, you might not have realised, but..." he leaned in close to Amberpaw, and spoke in a hushed tone; "Cedarstar ins't quite as concerned about your warrior-hood as you might think...he's more concerned about keeping us apart. He has forbidden me from...persuing my feelings, where you are concerned, until at least a moon after your warrior ceromeny." he meowed, quietly. "He wants us to be apart. He thinks we're not suited to one another." Flamecoat hoped to StarClan that Amberpaw would be wise enough to keep her mouth shut about this. He'd be crowfood if Cedarstar ever found out that he'd relayed this information to Amberpaw.

Amberpaw shuddered slightly, the hair on the back of her neck pricking up. She gazed down at her paws, pressed close together, ever so daintily - she hated standing like this; so ladylike. She usually stood with her feet apart, hindquarters proudly in the air, giving off an 'I don't care what you think' attitude. Flamecoat made her feel so small, so put-in-her-place. She nodded fractionally, still in mild disbelief. So she decided to test the waters, to play hard-to-get, to get it into Flamecoat's head that she didn't want to be one of his 'girls'. She was better than that, she thought. So a bold move would have to suffice. She just hoped Flamecoat wouldn't take it too badly.
Puffing out her white little chest, the calico hissed a vile warning at the older male, her anxiety pumping a spine back into her. She leaned up on her front paws, claws unsheathed, getting right in his face. "Listen, Flamecoat," she murmured venomously, "I trust in the leader of this Clan. Cedarstar has been like a father to me since I was a kit - not long ago, if you recall - and I have undying faith in him. If he says you can't 'pursue' me, then you should listen. You're the deputy, after all. I am going to become a warrior, and soon. I am going to train with Cedarstar and Lightbracken and I am going to like it. I'm a lot more mature than you'd think, Flamecoat, and I refuse to play into your paws like a mouse." She sighed, her face losing some fierceness. "I like you. Flamecoat, I like you a lot. I do. But if you can't wait for me then go find somebody else." She told him.
~ ! ~
Copperclaw tilted his head towards Flamecoat and Amberpaw, blinking rapidly. Was he hearing right? Amberpaw's voice was still too low for him to hear, but he caught some of the foxdung that Flamecoat was telling her. He looked thoroughly bemused and a touch disgusted, all of a sudden concerned for Amberpaw's well-being. His eyes flicked over to them, but he hesitated, trying to remain focused on Lightbracken.

Flamecoat opened his mouth to speak, then closed them, and nodded slowly. He'd have to play a different game with her. "Fine." he shrugged. "If you'd rather see less of me, you could have just said so." He turned and sauntered away. Think of a comeback to that, you pretty little mousebrain.

Amberpaw hissed in frustration, fur ruffled in anger. She stomped her feet and whirled around, yelping as she nearly collided with Copperclaw, whom, without her noticing, had sauntered up behind her. She took a couple of steps back, sputtering an apology. She was so flustered it was unbelievable. "I'm sorry, Copperclaw," She muttered.
"Don't worry about it. I didn't mean to startle you." Copperclaw replied gently. "I heard what Flamecoat was saying and it had me a little concerend. Are you okay?"
"Yeah..." Amberpaw's ears drooped as she cast a sideways look towards the ground. She sheathed her claws in order to stop looking so threatening. "He's...he stinks." She said lamely, offering a chuckle. "He and his sister. I wouldn't waste my time with Lightbracken, by the way." Amberpaw walked by Copperclaw, heading towards the apprentice den, and flicked the warrior in the nose with her tail. "She's dumb."
Copperclaw chuckled, shaking his head. That cat had too much sass in her for her own good. But it suited her. At least she could stand up to Flamecoat. For now. Copperclaw felt so much like taking matters into his own claws. Maybe he could make a change for the better. He knew he wasn't the only cat in WindClan who didn't think Flamecoat should be deputy.
"Hey, Flamecoat," He trotted after the ginger at.

((are they friends?? I can't remember lol)) Flamecoat whipped his head around, expecting Amberpaw. But it was Copperclaw. "Hi, Copperclaw." he muttered. He hadn't entirely forgiven Copperclaw for mooning over his sister, when sympathy was the last thing she deserved.
